Craner Dog Chronicles

By the end of each week, I seem to have more pictures on my camera of our dogs.
Some people like taking pictures of their children, nature, etc. I like capturing my pups on camera.
I love their expressions of wonderment and pleasure. Calvin is especially interesting to watch as he is just a pup and learning new things every day. I watch him and swear I can see the wheels turning in his head.

Craner Dogs

Here are some videos of our life with our three dogs. They are Smokee, Ace, and the newest addition, Calvin. Calvin has added a whole new dimension to all of our lives. Since he has gained weight, Ace now plays with him like a dog of his own size. They are amazing to watch. Smokee is happy that his two brothers are occupied with one another.

Calvin

Meet Calvin. He is a birthday / Christmas gift from my husband Dan.
I looked at several litters of puppies in the months leading to finding Calvin in California. At ten weeks he weighed in at twenty three pounds!

Here I am on the day we picked
Calvin up at the breeder.

Calvin's enclosure and family.

Calvin is a bit unsure of people...

Riding in the rental car!

Snuggling with Dan at the Grand Sierra
Resort on fine linens.

I could easily get use to this!

My, what big teeth you have!

Ace kenneling with Calvin.
We are still working on the concept of kennel.

Calvin finally relaxing a bit. It has taken two
weeks for me to get around Calvin to take pictures.

Calvin with big brother Smokee

Come on Ace, PLAY!

Calvin loves wet dog food. To gain his trust, I hand feed
him twice a day.

My sweet boy has come a long way in the short time
he has lived with Dan and I. I love watching Calvin
grow every day and discover new things. He is an
amazing pup! Thank you Dan!

Our Alaskan Wedding and Honeymoon

Dan and I were married in Juneau, Alaska on August 2, 2010. We took a seven day cruise and had a fantastic time.

Sailing through the Tracy Arm Fjord. So beautiful!

The crew decorated the front door of our room.

Our room. Cozy!

Formal Night

What port were we in? Tracy's Crab Shack. The best and biggest crab legs imaginable! Yummm!

Dan with a dog from the Dog Musher's Camp. This was so fun!

My new friend at the camp.

The sled dogs took us on a ride through the camp on an ATV vehicle. They were champs!

One of the many sled dogs awaiting their turn to pull the ATV. The dogs love their work.

Amazing views from our balcony on the ship.

Fishing for pinkies in Ketchikan

We had a great time and brought fish home.

The Serenity Spa onboard ship. Adults only:)

Juneau, Alaska
Everyone in Juneau was so kind and thoughtful. We had the owner of the taxi company drive us everywhere we needed to be. The owners of Pearson's Pond Resort Inn were incredible in making our special day happen with out a flaw. Thank you to everyone who made our day so wonderful!

Craner Maine Vacation 2009

*Click on any image for a larger picture*

I finally was able to share my favorite place in the world with Dan and the crew. Moody Beach Maine. All expectations were exceded. We stayed at my parents' cottage on the beach, the Dorothy Adelaide, and rented a 15 passenger van to tour New England.
We visited the New England Aquarium, Quincy Market Place, Salem, Massachussetts and the scary places there, Canobie Lake Park in Salem, MA and a ton of places in Maine. A few of the places we went to were Nubble Light House, Portland Head Light House, Flo's hot dog stand ( YUM!), Kennebunkport where George Bush Senior has a home, Route One outlet stores ( Alicia and Parker bought clothing for Nellie:), and so much more!
Moody Beach was fantastic. Ashlee and Matt were up every morning to watch the sun rise with Dan and I. They were astonished at the beauty of the beach and the ocean. Between Ashlee, Alicia, Whitney, and I we must have taken close to 3,000 pictures! Max is giving report on his Maine vacation at school tomorrow. I wish I could be there!
On Friday, October 23rd, Dan proposed to me at sunrise on Moody Beach. It was absolutley perfect and so beautiful! The crew was looking on from the windows of the cottage and took pictures:) Thanks everyone for the great pictures!

Staind and Aaron Lewis

Dan and I saw Staind and Creed last Friday night at the E-Center. We expected a lot from Creed and were really disappointed. We walked out after the second song. It could be that Aaron Lewis and Staind were so fantastic that nothing could compare to their performance. They had an awesome light show. Here are a few videos from the concert. Aaron is sporting a few new tattoos. I like the one around his neck which says "Don't tread on me."
