Craner Cabin October 2008

Dan and I made it to the cabin finally! I love going here with Dan and the dogs. It is one of my favorite places to be. We have so many memories at the cabin. Hikes, scary movies, great food, playing cards, and great chats. Work is left behind along with everything else. It is a fantastic place to just BE.
We witnessed the first snowfall at the cabin this year. It was COLD! At one point, we thought we may have to leave due to the severity of one of the storms. We did find a break in the snow squalls to go outside and hike around for a bit. As usual, the dogs had a blast!

Smokee Bauer...so happy with the cold!

The Manning Family

There are just a few days until I am back in Utah. It has been another memorable trip for me to the East Coast.
My week long stay at the Dorothy Adelaide was phenomenal. I ate at wonderful restaurants, spent quality time with my parents, spent a lot of time on the beach, and met some very nice people.
I am currently at my parents home in Wakefield Massachusetts.
My parents and I really enjoyed our time together. I never laugh so much as when I am with them. My Mom is so lovable and a bit zany at times. We love our walks and our girl chats are the best. My Dad with his quiet demeanor is so loving. We do not have to exchange words to know what each is thinking. I love helping him with any project he under takes. Cleaning the cottage, filling bird feeders, placing the air conditioner units in the windows, etc.
We saw Fiddler on the Roof last Saturday at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Sally Struthers and Eddie Mekka ( Carmine Ragusa on Laverne and Shirley) were the leading stars. It was fantastic!
Last night I attended a baseball game that my nephew Cameron was playing in. I had dinner with my parents, brother Larry, sister in law Elaine, and their children Cameron, Kevin, Alyson, and Kaitlyn afterwards at their house. I played ball with Kevin, sat with Alyson while she did her homework, chatted with my sister in law Elaine, and enjoyed dinner with all the gang. It was really good to sit down to a meal with everyone and just talk.
Today I had lunch with my Aunt Barbara and my parents at the 99 Restaurant. She is doing great.

Jack Perkins

Cadillac Sunrise by Jack Perkins

The clouds below are aglow
With the rose of the rise of the sun

I didn't come to Cadillac to be the first to see it
(Though that's why many come
If there's to be a first, they want to be it)
Instead, it was because
There is something I want to get done
Alone

To say hello to the glow
Of the rose of the rise of the sun
Important job. A way to make each newborn day your friend
For I'm convinced that any day whose sunrise you attend
You own

The inspiration for this poem is from Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor Maine

Jack Perkins is known for his photography of Maine

I think he is related to the Perkins Family here in the Ogunquit area

Enjoy the video. I am thinking of all of you. Your e-mails and pictures are awesome!

4:30 A.M.

When I wake in the morning to capture the sunrise

each experience is different from the Last

No two sunrises are ever alike

All continue to have me in Awe

I step onto the beach Alone

It is as though I have stepped Into God's canvas and have become part of his art work

Oh what a sight to behold!

Perkins Cove Maine

I spent last Monday afternoon at Perkins Cove here in Maine. I had a wonderful day walking around visiting the different shops and taking all the sights in with my camera.

The scenery was outstanding!

Former President Bush with Barbara Bush and Family were having lunch at Barnacle Billy's

Barbara Bush!
The Family is seated on the patio in the corner. What a sight!

My favorite picture of the day.
